[Yeah, yeah, I know ... but read this anyway! And you MUST follow it! ]

Ours site will have folks of all ages on it.  BE AWARE of that and you MUST behave and speak accordingly -- that means professionally and with great and high regard for other people's ages and opinions.  If you have problems doing this, or don't know what it means, don't join!!

We will design the world, its rules, its places, its content, its races, classes, etc. before your eyes. There will likely be copious discussion and many opinions. You are welcome to participate with helpful suggestions and/or content of various types. The forums will be set up to assist with all such things. Please note the word "helpful." We are not commercial artists, paid programmers, or otherwise giants in the profession. We do this because we enjoy it. There is, however, a fair amount of talent in in our little group. Please remember that if/as you join our site and our collaboration. Also be aware of copyright and other applicable laws and regulations. DO NOT submit anything that cannot be clearly construed as your own unrestricted creations. See below.

By the same token, PLEASE DO NOT copy or steal stuff from our site and use it somewhere else without our specific, written permission. This stuff (ideas, intellectual property, our developed code, settings, etc.) is owned outright by this company (me) and it is copyrighted. All this is posted here for enjoyment of those interested, and for the ultimate goal leading to the creation the final production. Folks are welcome to reference our site, link it, and/or talk about it — but they are NOT welcome to steal from the site or us. I don't want to get nasty and have to password the main part of the site; I'd rather have it open for folks to enjoy; but if any of our original development and/or original ideas and/or original work and/or original items (any of it — pics, code, text, scenes, setting, character names, realms, etc. — ANY OF IT) should suddenly show up somewhere else without our written authorization/permission, we WILL pursue consequences for theft and/or copyright infringement or whatever other illegal stuff was done to the limit the law allows.

For those that submit stuff that we actually use (whether it be ideas, code, music, paper clips, whatever), we will most happily give you credit for the contribution, if we know your name. (If we don't know your name, then we'll use your forum name.) But we will credit you IF and only IF the contribution is actually yours. If you contribute something and don't see credit in the production (when we get to that), please say something and we'll be more than happy to correct our oversight. Forwarding other people's contributions is not the same thing — please don't play that game. Take credit for your work, not someone else's work. Once stuff is submitted, all information, designs, music, snippets, scripts, intellectual contributions, code, etc. become the sole property of my company and the the company's owner(s) and their designee(s). If you don't agree with this policy, don't submit stuff. Consider yourself informed.

Opinions are very good. We love opinions. The more opinions and discussion there is on the front end, the better the gaming will be later. BUT when it's time for a decision to be made, we will make it. Ithil, The Creator (Spike — that's me), has the final say on EVERYTHING here! If you can't live with that, then don't join.

I should make clear that our design and contribution schedules are our own. This is collaborative work between friends and is done when time allows. We are perfectly comfortable with the idea that this process may take years. If you try and hurry or rush us, we'll ignore you, and if you keep pushing us you may get yourself banned from our site altogether. We all have jobs and families and constraints on our time that are real and important. Don't push it.

Any feedback or posts OTHER than helpful, reasonable, positive, or nice will be deleted, and the author(s) and/or contributor(s) banned from our site. Rants, profanity, racial slurs, religious slurs, discriminatory actions, inappropriately suggestive or abusive language or implications and such have no place in Erelos, or in the modern world for that matter.  Holy Ithil won't allow that stuff, and neither will we. That stuff is counter-productive, juvenile, mean, nasty, a huge waste of time, yada yada and will absolutely not be tolerated.  We have a zero-tolerance policy on this. If you need to test me and find out -- just try me.

DO NOT submit content for our world or game that is copyrighted or otherwise restricted. This applies to ANYTHING from code to music to graphics to 3D models to ideas to paper clips. We will make reasonable effort to be sure stuff that we use is public domain, or otherwise free and unrestricted, but we are not the FBI nor do we care to be. If you misrepresent stuff to us and we don't know it, that's your problem, not ours. If we find out that you have, all the restricted stuff will be deleted, a reference to its deletion will be posted with an apology to the owners, and the offender(s) and their IP addresses will be permanently banned from our site. There's just no excuse for this type activity. We are in this to create the game ourselves in a fun, collaborative manner. We may use purchased software tools, but we don't steal stuff -- if I wanted to copy stuff, I'd buy it! Copyrighted or otherwise restricted stuff should not EVER be submitted to us as yours or as usable -- NEVER! Our policy on this is also zero-tolerance.
